Community Matinees
Formerly called “School Assemblies,” our community matinee performances are special weekday performances designed for public and private schools and other local groups (home schools and local groups such as senior care facilities, 4-H, church groups, and more). These matinees provide affordable, local field trip opportunities and can be tied to the classroom curriculum. Depending on the show, teaching topics can include literature, history, geography, and theatre etiquette.
KCMT’s popular matinee performances will next be available in May 2024.
We look forward to seeing you then!
How long is the performance?
Matinee performances run between 90 minutes and an hour and 45 minutes. They do NOT include an intermission.
Should we arrive early for the performance?
Where is the theatre?
KCMT performs at the North Kitsap Community Auditorium in Poulsbo. Parking can be scarce and more info will be available once you have purchased your tickets.
Where should I park?
Parking details will be made available from the Box Office after ticket purchase.
Will I get the show date and time I requested?
How do I pay for the seats I reserved? Will you accept a school district voucher?
Reservations are payable prior to the show or at the door. We accept cash/checks payable to KCMT and most credit/debit cards. We also accept school district vouchers from local school districts. If you pay by voucher, we will give you an invoice at the door that you can take back to your school to initiate payment.
Should teachers and parent volunteers pay for their seats?
Can I reserve my seats by phone?
Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. To do that fairly, and to make sure we have all the information we need from you to make this the best theatre experience possible, we only accept reservations either online through our website or with an email to the box office (link above).
Will we receive assigned seats for the show?
We will have designated seating for each group. For schools, we do our best to keep different classes from the same school seated together. However, if there is a big age/height difference, we may assign them to different sections.
May I ensure that certain students sit together?
What if I don’t know the exact number of seats I need?
