High Stakes and Heartstrings: The Rollicking Romance of Guys and Dolls
Guys and Dolls is a classic American musical that blends romance, comedy, and high-stakes gambling in 1950s New York City. The story follows two unlikely couples: slick gambler Sky Masterson, who takes a bet to woo a straight-laced missionary named Sarah Brown, and the perennial fiancé Nathan Detroit, who struggles to keep his floating crap game going while evading marriage to his longtime girlfriend, Adelaide. With vibrant characters, catchy songs, and witty dialogue, the show explores themes of love, risk, and redemption in a fast-paced, jazz-filled world.
In-person auditions will be held on Saturday, May 24th, 2025 at 2356 NW Rude Road from 9am-2pm. You may receive further callbacks on Sunday, May 25th if we need/want to hear more from you. Please sign up for a time slot by clicking the link below if you plan to attend auditions in-person.

You will be asked to prepare a song from the show (list of choices are attached below) AND the sides of a character of your choice (this list is also attached below). We will have accompaniment available at your audition and if you plan to send in a video audition, email us at encore@kcmt.org to get the material.
We understand some of our participants will be away for school or work. We will be offering video submissions for Guys and Dolls. You will be required to prepare and submit a video following the same requirements listed above. This submission deadline will be Saturday, May 24th 2025, by 3pm. Please email these video submissions to our executive board at encore@kcmt.org. Please note that you may be asked to send in more footage on Sunday, May 25th for callbacks.
Auditioning for Guys and Dolls will not guarantee you are cast. All will be notified by Monday, May 26th when casting is done.
Guys and Dolls will start rehearsals on June 15th and have rehearsals every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings, and in the afternoon on Sundays. Tech week will be August 9th-August 14th. Shows will be August 15th (6pm), August 16th (2pm & 7pm), August 17th (6pm), August 22nd (6pm), August 23rd (2pm & 7pm), and August 24th (6pm).
